Glenwood Springs Percussion Ensemble Finishes 2011 Competition with State Honors
The Glenwood Springs Percussion Ensemble took second place in the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association state competition on April, 2, 2011.
Competing at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, the ensemble needed a top three finish in the preliminary round of the Scholastic Concert Open Class division. They delivered and earned a slot in the final round. Returning the parking lot, the ensemble continued to polish their piece as the hours and minutes lead the finals.
Posting their highest score of the 2011 season, the Glenwood Springs team took second following the division champions from Golden High School. See Photos from the competition.
The 2011 competition season began with a first place finish in RMPA competition on March 5 in Broomfield, Colorado. In 2010, the ensemble placed 6th in the WGI “Worlds” — a remarkable accomplishment for team breaking into national competition. Watch the 2010 GWSPE performing at the Worlds competition in 2010.
